Obama is my homeboy. And I'm not saying that because he's black - I'm saying that in reference to those Urban Outfitters t-shirts from a couple years ago that said, "Jesus is my homeboy." Yes, I just said it. Obama is my Jesus.
While you may be overtly religious and find this to be idol-worshipping, or may be overtly politically correct and just know that everything in that sentence could be found offensive, I'm afraid it's true anyway.

For those of us lucky enough to have witnessed the past year in UConn sports, we may have seen one of the most successful in school years history - which saw dual national championships in basketball as well as the first bowl ever for the football team.
2004 was impressive, but the 2008-2009 years surpassed it in the time after the teams finished playing.

Ten years ago UConn football was a Division I-AA team, fighting for position in the now defunct A10 against the likes of Rhode Island, UMass and New Hampshire. The team that will take the field Sept. 12 for the Huskies home opener against North Carolina is virtually indistinguishable from their predecessors a decade ago.

On the morning of June 4, Prof. Ebon Fisher was surprised to find that he was no longer working at Stevens Institute of Technology. Fisher, who was making $44,000 a year plus basic benefits according to an article in Inside Higher Ed, had sent a letter to the Stevens administration urging them to address the low wages of affiliate professors.
