As I packed my bags in the early hours of a cold Monday morning, I wasn't sure what to expect over the next two weeks. I was one of 49 students from HBS headed on an Immersion to Peru, led by Professor Diego Comin. Amidst the cluttered array of my last-minute packing, I picked up the required reading for the trip, stuffed it into my bag and made a mental note to read on the flight.

It would be a lot easier to take Jon McLaughlin's Indiana as some dime-a-dozen, mediocre, Maroon 5-wannabe pop music. Really, it would save a ton of time.
It would, after all, allow us to use any or all of these following jabs. This album: (a) lets us know where Nick Lachey has been in the past year; (b) proves that you can fill up an entire piano-driven album with a severe allergy to the black keys on the piano; (c) write lyrics to a major label release with nothing but collected lines from the climax of The Notebook.

"There are several paths to success." That is my key learning from the China IXP this January that proved to be an amazing learning opportunity and an extremely dazzling experience. I was hooked on the charm of the orient. I went on the China IXP because I was attracted by their economic success and the enigma of being able to achieve it in a political and cultural setting so different from the Western model we're so used to revering.

As I sat down to enjoy a nice picnic lunch with some friends on one of the few days this past week when the sun actually decided to shine, I brushed my hand against something poking out in the grass: a cigarette butt. Yuck. This was not the first time I have noticed cigs littered around campus; they are everywhere.

While Smith College may seem like a comparatively safe and supportive space for women, the campus bubble does not insulate students from issues of sexual violence and assault. To highlight these continuing problems and work for a safer environment for women, Smith community members participated in "Take Back the Night," a combination rally, vigil and speak-out for sexual assault victims and allies last Saturday.

International development and business have long been considered opposite extremes. Business is often characterized as cold, ruthless, money-mongering enterprises while international development is characterized by soft, touchy-feely efforts. While neither characterization is entirely true, the two are not commonly associated.

As we are finalizing our year at HBS and thinking about jobs, it is important to stop, relax, take a deep breath and take another look at the LEAD essay we wrote on "our 10-year reunion". Ten years seems like such a long time, but just as we are finalizing our last cases at HBS, it might come sooner than you think.

"Do you remember when you first heard of Harvard Business School? I found out from my Dad's bookshelf. He had a bookshelf full of boring books about golf and amongst them was one entitled: What they don't teach you at Harvard Business School.
